Join Mayor Muriel Bowser and the Mayor’s Office on Women’s Policy and Initiatives (MOWPI) at the 5th National Maternal & Infant Health Summit!

The 5th annual Mayor Muriel Bower’s Maternal & Infant Health Summit will feature panel discussions, community spaces, breakout sessions, and a virtual resource expo dedicated to connecting District residents with local and national resources and supports needed to families have what they need to thrive.

2021 In-Person & Virtual Summit

The 4th Annual National Maternal & Infant Health Summit – hosted by Mayor Muriel Bowser – built on the growing public awareness and interest of this important issue and the District’s continued approach to ensure the health of women, infants, and families. The 2021 Summit addressed the changes that have taken place in DC in support of pregnant women, moms, families and babies, as well as District residents at large, the importance of inclusivity in health, and resources that support the wellness of new moms and infants.

2020 Virtual Summit

Mayor Muriel Bowser hosted the third annual National Maternal & Infant Health Summit to build on the growing public awareness and interest in this important issue and the District’s new approach to ensure the health of women, babies, and families. With the coronavirus outbreak bringing business as usual to a halt, the Summit addressed the impact of the epidemic on pregnant women, moms, and babies, as well as District residents at large and our systems.

2019 Summit

The 2nd Annual Mayor Muriel Bowser’s National Maternal and Infant Health Summit took place on September 10th, 2019. The summit featured discussions about maternal health, infant health, and early education. Panelists discussed opportunities for innovation and positive outcomes at both the national and local level in Washington, DC.

2018 Summit

Mayor Muriel Bowser hosted the District of Columbia’s first Maternal and Infant Health Summit on September 12, 2018.

Mayor Bowser brings together a vibrant list of speakers and leaders to address a community audience and develop an agenda that tackles the disproportionally high rates of maternal mortality experienced by people of color – in both Washington, DC and across the nation.
