Paid Family Leave has proven to have long-term health benefits, such as decreased incidence of low birth weight and preterm births, increased breast-feeding, and reduced rates of hospitalizations among moms and infants. In addition to parental leave, Paid Family Leave also includes family leave and personal medical leave.
The DC Office of Paid Family Leave (OPFL) at the DC Department of Employment Services (DOES) is working with employers and residents to support the implementation of Paid Family Leave and to ensure our communities are a meaningful part of the process.
